Every year, the United Nations designates a week for action toward the Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs. These SDGs include no poverty, climate action, and more. Global Goals Week 2021 occurs from September 17 to September 26. Magnet will be celebrating from September 20 to 24. Every day this week, we'll be presenting outside during lunch with UNICEF and uploading educational Instagram posts. We'll also have fun, educational activities for Magnet at lunch! Monday is Clean Water and Sanitation Day with UNICEF, Tuesday is International Day of Peace and we'll be making our new "PEACE BEADS" and drawing peace signs in chalk in the courtyard, Wednesday is Gender Equality Day and Girl UP will help others promote Gender Equality, Thursday is Climate Action Day, and we'll be teaching others about how to recycle, how we compost, and steps you can take to be "green", and Friday we'll be talking about Responsible Consumption, Sustainable Cities & Communities, & Zero Hunger, and we'll be selling cultural foods to celebrate cultural diversity during lunch on Friday. Each day you can make some Global Goals glasses and take fun pics with props in front of our awesome "flag wings" photo backdrop by the cafeteria and use special tags to get the attention of world leaders and others around the world to advocate for more action to meet our Global Goals in this "Decade of Action" by 2030. We can't wait to advocate and celebrate with all of you!
