Buy a real Christmas tree from a local farm.
Wrap gifts in recyclable paper (i.e. old newspapers etc.).
Be creative! Use fabrics as a gift wrap to customize your very own gift bags!
Use java logs in your fireplace as an alternative to wood.
Use LED lights as an alternative to decorate your Christmas tree.
Use real elements of nature (i.e. a pine
cone etc.) to decorate your home for the Christmas holidays.
Buy a mug and enjoy your hot chocolate! It will last through you the winter holidays and is definitely a more eco friendly option than drinking hot chocolate out of disposable cups.
It is that time of year to send letters out to family and friends inviting them to come over for the holidays. In modern times, we have become dependent on technology as a form of communication. So why not send electronic letters?
Leftovers! Going once? Twice? Make your very own compost bin. Then, dispose all “unwanted” leftovers in your compost bin.
Do you have any old sweaters or shirts that are too small for you? Don’t throw them away! You can rewrap these and drop them off at nonprofit organizations, like Goodwill, for children in need.
