Envirothon

Louisiana Envirothon is an environmental problem solving competition for students. Teams train and compete by showing their knowledge of environmental science and the management of natural resources. There are five main categories in the competition: soils and land-use, aquatic resources, forestry, and wildlife. There is also a current environmental issue; this year the current issue dealt with water resources management.

The team from Caddo Magnet High School competed against 10 other teams. We won first in the current environmental issue category. We also presented a solution to an environmental problem related to water resources management and the reduction of contaminants in the water source, and our solution ended up winning first place. In the forestry category, the team also won first place. We won first place overall! Team members were Diya Desai, Savannah Green, Leah Sullivan, Ashini Modi, and Olivia Horrell. We had a great time! See you next year, Envirothon.
